Kenya National Highways Authority (Kenha) Implements Partial Closure Of Southern Bypass For Essential Maintenance

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) will close a section of the Southern Bypass for maintenance. The closure, which began on Thursday and will end on Sunday, will affect a section between the Kikuyu-bound carriageway and the Gitaru Overpass virtual weighbridge. Motorists will use the route every night from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. KeNHA director general Kung’u Ndung’u said that normal traffic will resume every night between 6:00 pm and 9:00 am to allow for highway maintenance works along the section. Marshals will be deployed at night to control traffic, and proper signs will be erected to direct motorists. The Nairobi Southern Bypass project is a 28.6-kilometer dual carriageway with slip roads and service roads, launched to reduce congestion in Nairobi.
