The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has temporarily closed a section of the Nairobi Southern Bypass for four days to allow contractors to carry out maintenance works. The closure affects the Kikuyu-bound carriageway from the virtual weighbridge to Gitaru Overpass and will remain in place until Sunday 18 June. Motorists will be able to access the area every night between 6pm and 9am, with normal traffic resuming during these hours. The Nairobi Southern Bypass project was launched to reduce congestion in Nairobi by providing alternative routes for motorists travelling westwards.
