These are various road signs in Kenya for your safety. Safety is a familiar word when we talk about machinery, equipment and vehicles. In lower primary, I remember we were taught how to cross the road. We learnt the meaning of the traffic lights (colours), and what to do before we cross the road.
It was something like this: Look right, look left and look right again then go ahead to cross the road. I loved how we sang it out, beautiful memories.
Types of Road Signs in Kenya
Photo Credits, GoogleRoads are a great infrastructure: roads can be good and bad. Safety is therefore of importance to us all, pedestrians and motorists alike. This information may be availed to licensed motorists but it isn’t general knowledge to pedestrians.
When you look through the road signs manual, you will notice that they are classified in different categories.
1.Class A Signs/ Regulatory Signs.
These are mandatory signs that you have to obey. They are circular in shape and enclose either a blue background containing white symbols, or a red border around a white background inlaid with red symbols.
Red signs contain symbols that prohibit indicated actions while blue signs prescribe mandatory positive action.

These give a notice of a hazard that lays ahead and in a way request that you approach cautiously. These are also called Class B signs.

These types of road signs in Kenya provide supplementary information about services and conveniences available along the road, such as petrol stations, parking, hotels, restaurants, hospitals and the like.
These are less demanding (other than signs for parking and hospitals) due to the proliferation of micro hotels, restaurants and other services.
