Other major towns include Kakamega, Naivasha and Eldoret, which is home to the world’s best known long distance athletes, Nakuru, Kisii and Thika.

The people of Kenya are known to be one of the most outstanding in the world in academics, sports and politics. For instance, USA President Barrack Obama traces his roots to K’Ogelo back in Kenya’s lakeside Nyanza region. Other known personalities include Prof. Wangari Maathai, the first woman Nobel laureate, Lupita Nyong’o who won an Oscar award, Divock Origi who played for Belgium’s 2014 world cup team among others.

Known for its magnificent coastal beaches and good climate, the country attracts thousands of tourists yearly. It has some of the best game parks in the world, including the Maasai Mara best known for the wildebeest migration.These are just some few facts about Kenya.
